Wednesday, May 4 was the busiest day ever at Curbside Cuisine, the emerging food truck “pod” at Louisiana and Central. Coming off of our fantastic grand opening the week before, we were thrilled with the crowd.
One of the things we’re finding is that as we grow: the vendors are learning how the pod needs to operate, and sometimes the learning can be a bit painful – longer wait times, slower lines, etc.
STEPS works with startup businesses, and our food cart entrepreneurs are learning, sometimes through trial and error, the best menu items, service logistics, presentation, and all the other things that go with running a mobile restaurant. If you’ve been on the receiving end of one of the errors, we ask your patience!
Please give us some feed back through our web site, facebook page and on-site surveys. You can let our vendors know how they can improve or look for Cynthia out at the pod and ask for a critique to fill out. We love those!
Thanks for your continued participation and we look forward to seeing you on Wednesday – any time from 10 to 6!

Please look into doing something about providing electricity so that the food carts don’t need generators. We were at the food carts when generators were running and the noise from those things is very irritating.
We understand that the generators are annoying, but the trucks have to maintain cold refrigerators and power their other equipment. On Monday, May 16, the City Council approved a zoning amendment to allow food trucks on private property in the Talin Market area. The next step is to get power to the trucks now that they can legally locate in the parking lot. However, it will be an investment by the Talin owners, who are working out details with the vendors.
