If you’re craving street food, and it’s not Curbside Cuisine Wednesday, venture downtown. There are at least two locations where food trucks set up for breakfast and lunch – 4th and Lomas and the north side of the 4th Street Mall.
Some Curbside Cuisine regulars – Oz Patisserie and The Chopping Block are on the west side of 4th Street just north of Lomas by the courthouse most days (not Wednesday, of course). Start your morning with coffee and a green chile scone or breakfast sandwich from Oz, and take a cookies or brownie back to the office for your morning snack. Prices range from $1.00 to $3.00 depending on the item. Oz announces his specials and locations on twitter, so follow Oz Patisserie on twitter for daily updates.
The Chopping Block has very good sandwiches, burgers, tacos and a special for lunch. If you work downtown, walk on over. Lunch plates are typically $6.50.
If it’s Mexican you’re craving, Pink Ladies Mexican Diner is parked on Tijeras and the 4th Street Mall. They advertise their “famous” Pink Burrito, and the homemade tortilla is pink – seriously! Coworkers and I tried the Pink Burrito, which is stuffed with chicken, pork, beef, beans, rice, sour cream, and your choice of chile. Thumbs up all around. The Pink Burrito is the most expensive item on the menu at $5.00. Other burritos are $3 to $4. Quesadillas are $3 or $4. They also offer frito pie, nachos, and if you need something sweet, brownies and cupcakes. The person who recommended Pink Ladies raved about the $1.00 tacos – just like in Mexico. I’ll try that next. Pink Ladies are on facebook.

Alison’s is the best New Mexican cuisine. Love you Sal…can’t wait till next Wednesday at Curbside Cuisine for a great Breakfast Burrito, you red sauce the best.
